Tara Leigh Calico was last seen wearing a medium white t-shirt with "1st National Bank of Belen" on it; White shorts with green stripes; White ankle socks, white tennis shoes, and gold butterfly ring with diamond insert; Gold amethyst stone ring; Gold 1/2" loop earrings.
Details of Disappearance
According to open source information, Tara Leigh Calico left her home on Brugg Street in Belen, New Mexico, on 09/20/1988 in the morning hours for a bike ride. She was last seen riding a neon pink Huffy mountain bike with yellow control cables and sidewalls along Highway 47 in Valencia County at approximately 11:45 a.m.
Calico reportedly biked this route daily during her routine 36-mile rides. She was 19 years old at the time of her disappearance, and was never seen again.
The FBI is offering a reward of up to $20,000 for precise details leading to the identification or location of Tara Leigh Calico,
and information leading to the arrest and conviction of those responsible for her disappearance.
(Additional Note: Witnesses reportedly saw a dirty white or light gray-colored 1953 Ford pickup truck with a white handmade shell following Tara during her ride. It is not known if the truck is connected to her presumed abduction).
